Call Of Duty Five - Get The Lo Down

Call of Duty Five (also known as COD5 and Call of Duty: World at War) is the best selling PC, XBOX 360 and Playstation 3 video game from Treyarch, and is the fifth installment in the critically acclaimed series. This first-person shooter game sees you take the place of a World War Two soldier in the Eastern Pacific, fighting against the Japanese, as well jumping between the role of Private Petrenko, a Russian infantryman who must fight back against the Germans.

Part of the appeal of playing Five is the chance to re-enact one of the most famous times in recent history, and with full historical accuracy. For example, the weapons that you can use throughout the game are all 100% true to the original in terms of looks, sound, damage and accuracy. For example, the hugely popular and versatile Thompson submachine gun is included, as well as the Mosin Nagant sniper

rifle. The ability to customise these weapons is also an option, with bayonets, scopes and sites, and grenade all an option.

Apart from a stellar single player campaign, Five also includes a fantastic multiplayer mode, which is fairly similar to it's excellent semi-predecessor, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, but has additional modes included, such as War (where you must fight a metaphorical tug of war to claim a succession of flags, each one closer to your opposing team's base). Other similarities include the Perk system, whereby you can fully customise several classes to use in battle, where a quick switch between them is made easy. Despite these similarities, COD5 is a totally new game, set in a different era, and has a very different feel to it. There's also a completely original set of maps to play on, and to date, there have been two additional map packs to download.
