Perhaps one of the most incredible and most popular games of all time, the series has a new release pending for November 2009, just in time for Christmas this year. The COD series grew in popularity little by little until it exploded with 4-Modern Warfare. A normal reaction was to put out another one thinking it will go even farther since they were on a roll. Well the rolling never went past COD 4. The new Zombie mode was of course an attraction, but the expected popularity never manifested. COD 5 could not be topped.

So, Activision paid attention. Rather than release another series dud they stuck with what worked best. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 grows out the incredible game play and superior graphics of

COD 4. There is even talk of more improvements on the Zombie Mode from COD 5. All this excitement should hook all the old fans and bring in some new.

Because it is online when you play, it is easy for the company to observe the number of people playing. It is a surprise how many players stayed loyal to 4 instead of upgrading. Activision was aware that to keep people buying new stuff they had to dip back into the magic of COD 4. There were simply too many people still into the game not to take notice.

After all, if you know you created a blockbuster game, then you know that you can create another, right? Well, it stands to reason that there will be a huge demand for this item as people are already reserving their copy. If this one is a hit, then they have hit the jackpot, and if not, I guess that is where the COD saga will end. Either way, this may be the most anticipated game release for 2009.
